Hyouden, you have your opinion a little. While it is clear that at least taken the time to explore the history of Tae Kwon Do, which is a little research on their statements. Tae Kwon Do martial art recognized as an art that actually occurred in 1955 when the name has a commission from General Choi Hong Hi, who has worked with others in the combination of Taekyon, the ancient Korean art of fighting going, submitted, Shotokan Karate that under the Japanese occupation, when Taekyon prohibited and studied other martial arts, which have been in existence for some time. It was only after General Choi, the South Korean government has asked, that they have seen take to Tae Kwon Do in the North, which the initial fracture, after which Kukkikwon created, the World Tae Kwon Do Association wasbased, and Tae Kwon Do has been declared the official sport of South Korea. And while there are some parts missing in May, given the above explanation is the fact that after separation, and as the Tae Kwon Do throughout the world (much to the initial efforts to credit and continue to do, General Choi belonged until his death), there were many fragments of the original forms (ITF / WTF), which gave rise to many types of organization, or "styles" of Tae Kwon Do.

UTFI ATA, ITF, WTF, Choong Sil and others cited here all teach tae kwon do differently. Some are in line with how "original" (ITF), some have a tendency cometition and decided to show (WTF), are some of Tae Kwon Do in name only and have little or no resembesLance for Tae Kwon Do in any way, and many if not most, are not WTF or ITF was of a martial artist, one of the two original forms investigated founded. Some of them are Organiziations the ITF or WTF, is a few disconnected. We can use some that styles such as Mu-Doo Kwan, Han Mu Kwan, Chung Do Kwan, Kang Duk Kwan, and others have to say that the previous name for what we know today as Tae Kwon Do, or forms, which were practiced before they combined in Tae Kwon Do we know today. Many if not most of these styles has never taught even today are still some disappeared, others are collected by students of art, but it can be difficult to find outside of Korea.

The commitment and loyalty to your art is both honored and ex --Unexpectedly, however, ignorance of the other styles to be wrong, ineffective or less is not only arrogant, but dangerous.

There are two types of Tae Kwon Do - WTF (World Tae Kwon Do) and the ITF (International Tae Kwon Do) ... I'm sure there are many branches of these two. The practice is Jong Tae Kwon Do, TKD ITF on style, makes the difficult and Aikido as a soft component. In my travels I have two classes of the ITF and WTF, and pointed to the differences in style and terminology. I've heard, WTF is "(on the basis of the tournament, while more ITF Hyung (patterns) on the ground - but I have not been studied. Tang How-Do is also a kind of Tae Kwon Do, all are common" Korean Karate ").

There seems little difference between the ITF and WTF - on my research, because of world politics (General Choi, Founder of the ITF wants to North and South KoreaOverall, what was perceived as pro-communist, hence the beginning of the WTF in Korea). It is much more, these differences - the most of this research on their own - I would an essay on this big gap in my limited research funding to write ....

I look forward different opinions from others, both the ITF and WTF (or other species that do not) might know.

Before the Japanese occupation (1910-1945), Taekwondo has developed into primarily a derivative of many styles of unarmed combat of the Korean martial artists that are fully three rival Korean kingdoms, Koguryo, Silla and Baekje developed. After the occupation and after the experience of Chinese and Japanese styles, several prominent schools have increased, including Chung Do Kwan, Moo Duk Kwan, Jidokwan (or Yun Moo Kwan), Chang Moo Kwan, Han Moo Kwan, Oh Do Kwan, Jung Do Kwan, Kang Duk Won and Song Moo Kwan. Most of these systems are based on the Japanese, but began to publicly Koreans who had learned in Japan should be informed, they were taught under such names as kongsudo and Tangsudo.

But - Well, after the founding of these schools, the need for a "Koreanize 'WAs direction. This process will be joined by three main aspects. 1. The selection of a new "non-Japanese names. 2 Creation of a system of techniques and training, to establish clearly from karate.3 different. An attempt to the existence of Taekwondo and its development in the historical flow of Korean culture. On April 11, 1955, Taekwondo was officially accepted the name, and shortly thereafter, some schools have out as leading examples of Taekwondo flag of truth. In '65, a formal agreement on the formation of the Korea Tae Soo Do Association, which in its name the Korean Taekwondo Association changed in 1965, led to a change of leadership.

From now on - it is a complete and consistent style of Taekwondois provided by the Federation.

EDIT --
For the poster on the matter - not arrogance - just what I had studied very soon haha .. After reading a bit more, I came here to fix - but it had changed, so thank you: P There should be limited and not widespread as I thought I was a bit slow and I just wanted one Asker simple answer. I was a student of Taekwondo for many years, and although it was stupid of me to have a long waiting list, is simply that, although I am sure that my teacher makes me pine here haha ..
However, it had nothing to do with arrogance or lack of "reaction" as you so poetically. Suppose someone who stronglyLuxist is arrogant and dangerous, it is not;)

To the previous poster:
It is true that the WTF and ITF styles, and not organizations. But these organizations do not practice their taekwondo differently so that it wrong to say that others are wrong. I know because I played both and prefer the WTF style.

Yes there are. The name Tae Kwon Do is a generic name, such as Karate, Kung Fu and Kali.
Systems Tae Kwon Do: Tang Soo Do, Mu Duk Kwon.
Karate system: Shoto Kan Goju Ryu.
The systems of Kung Fu: Bagua Zhang, Bak Pai.
Potash systems: Cabal, Lukaliki.
Of course, much more than what I listed, but you get the idea.
Sorry for the spelling of some of these systems. The attempt to explain what he says is sometimes a chore.
